Comments: I saw these guys install a neighbor's tile roof underlayment several years back and thought they did a lot of little extras with metal work and water channels. 2 years ago I called and Tony helped me with some repairs and was fair. This last week I needed a re-roof, I got some bids, including one from S&R. Tony came out and took pictures of all the issues on my 29 year old roof and discussed how they would address it if I hired them. After getting bids I called and spoke to Charlie at S&R, and he had a good price and a 15 year warranty and schedule availability to start soon. Better yet, the after sales support was awesome. The install took about 4 days, and the crew that arrived was polite and extremely hard working. Tony and Brian stopped by repeatedly and checked on progress and spoke to me about progress and provided quality control over the crew on some issues that I would not have been aware of. At the end of the job, Charlie came out with a drone and showed me some of the features of the new roof and how they had done the job. This is a good outfit. After Charlie provided a reasonable quote with whom I scheduled for the roofing project, Brian arrived with five hard working and dedicated roofers along with a trailer for discarded materials. Luis (Team Leader), Cesar, Leticia, Rober and Samuel appeared energetic and hardy throughout the process. It was apparent that these five crew members were knowledgeable and skilled in roofing and enjoyed their craft as they were never seen without a smile and on occasion while working, could be heard singing (on key)! During the process, John arrived to verify materials and secured the delivery of additional supplies. The company owners, managers and work crew were on time, informative, hardworking, and invested in completing the detailed project. They were upbeat, friendly, and appeared to really care about the work they performed. The project included the replacement of plywood, metal drip edges, battens, rib valleys, roof jacks and weather block material. As I await my appointment to have the final inspection completed with Tony, I could not be happier with selecting S&R Roofing to provide replacements that are in alignment with current roofing codes. They are rock star status roofers and the real deal!!

Comments: I was dazzled by the stars rating of S and R Roofing on Home Advisor. But, I had a quote from another firm with a high star rating as well, and they were twice as much (literally) as S and R. My first impression of S and R was from one of the two owners who agreed to give me a quote on a Sunday. (rain was expected and my roof was in trouble) Charlie was pleasant while paying attention to business. I hired them a couple of days later. While the work was going on they stayed in touch by email and phone. There were a couple of unavoidable delays, but there was always a phone call. The job was a flat patio roof that was 16 years old. Several things that were not apparent showed up in the process, a lot more plywood was needed than expected, some rafters had to be replaced, and scuppers had to be removed and renewed. I watched the work closely (I am retired) and was sure they would want more $. That was not the case, I paid the quoted price, and, on top of that I received an attractive thoughtful gift. Home Advisor helped me find a go-to painter, and now I have a go-to roofer. (Charlie was eager to show me the roof with a high end drone used in their business, but alas, FAA required software would not let it take off because of proximity to an airport)

Comments: It is not always easy to find a good roofer in AZ. We used this company some years ago on a flat roof in Tempe, and they just completed a complete new roof plus flat roof in Sedona for us. I was so pleased that Charlie drove up to Sedona from Phoenix and went up on the roof and then discussed the project using his drone. Yes he has a drone that sends live video back! Tony and the crew just spent 4 1/2 days up in Sedona, and I was very pleased with the work. I was there the whole time and got Tony to explain what they were doing which he did with great patience. They were courteous, cleaned up every day and were just a pleasure to have on site. They were happy to escape from the heat of Phoenix. I expect my neighbors in Sedona to be calling Charlie soon and indeed one already has, they guarantee the work for 15 years and with the new roofing material used - the roof should be good for 30-50 years. I plan to have them do the rest of my roof in Tempe in the early fall. You will get a written estimate which they stick to. I was impressed they waited around until the dumpster was picked up at the end.

Comments: My roof is 26 years old and we are fortunate that we just started getting some leaks. I had contacted 4 other companies to bid and Charlie was the last one. Honestly, when he arrived and got his drone out to inspect the roof, I thought "this guy is going to be the high bidder for sure". He flew it over the roof and pointed out several areas that needed upgrading. Took the time to explain the new codes and what he would do. The next morning I received his proposal and was shocked that he was the low bidder and was using better materials than the other guys. Also, he didn't ask for any money down and the price was all inclusive. NO EXTRA CHARGES!!! As it turned out, they had to replace the 2 X 8 fascia around my entire back porch. With some rain in the forecast prior to them starting, Charlie himself came out and patched the areas where the leaks were. They were scheduled to start work on 12/10/18. On the Sat. prior, Charlie stopped by and asked if we would mind pushing the start date 3 weeks out and he would give us an $800 discount off the price. Needless to say they started 3 weeks later. My wife and I could not be happier with the quality of work, professionalism and attention to detail. I would highly recommend S&R for any roofing needs. Charlie, Tony and their crews are probably the best contractors I have ever worked with. Have S&R bid on your roof project and you won't need to get any more bids. Comments: We recently purchased a new home with a traditional clay tile roof. It turned out that the roof had many serious leaks (8) and we needed to consider how to fix the problem. We got recommendations for a few roofing companies, among them S&R roofing. Charlie from S&R Roofing immediately convinced us that S&R was the company to go with. He came for a consultation, diagnosed the problems and the reasons for them (32 year old roof with deteriorated underlayment) in great detail and showed us all the issues using a drone from which he could zoom into the problem areas and point out issues such as broken tiles, faulty flashing, etc. Based on the degree of damage he suggested replacement of the roof. We went over options laid out by Charlie using modern technology for preventing leaks and saving energy. He gave us great advise on pros and cons of the individual materials available for underlament and tiles and was open to suggestions for modifications such as mounting the tiles in a cool roof fashion to allow air flow between the underlayment and the tiles, thereby reducing the heat conduction into the home significantly. I also decided to add a second underlayment (SharkSkin) to further reduce heat transfer into the home. In the end he gave us excellent advise on each option (including cost) and we then made our choice. Charlie was always very responsive to inquiries while we went through the options and had questions. He got back to me in less than half a day (typically less than a few hours) by e-mail, text message or phone. Once we signed the contract Charlie kept in touch re time line and started the project at the promised date. Removal of the old roof and installation of the new roof went very smoothly. We were always informed about what would happen next, when the individual crews would be at the house and whether or not modifications to the planned installation had to be made. He was on the job at least once a day and we had a chance to discuss progress. Workmanship was excellent and the job site was always perfectly cleaned up at the end of the day. Beyond outstanding technical work Charlie also paid attention to aesthetics such as painting fascia and flashing. Finally, he inspected the roof after we added a solar panel array immediately after the roof installation. Overall, we had an exceptional experience with Charlie. The roof installation was as painless as one can imagine and the roof simply looks great. I have confidence in the performance of the roof and I also trust that Charlie will be responsive should there be any issues that could not be detected yet. I recommend him highly and without any reservation. I wish all contractors would be as professional and responsive to our needs as he was.

Comments: Charlie, Tony and the complete crew are fantastic experienced people. They know everything and suggest even more to make your roof and house the best looking on the block. Charlie goes out of his way to make you feel comfortable. Everyone was on time and worked hard to complete the job. Had quotes from other contractors that were less expensive but they were not doing as much as Charlie said would be done. He listened to what I wanted done and did it. The others said they could not do everything I wanted done or were more expensive or could not do it in my time frame. You do not need to look for anyone else after you talk to Charlie, a true, honest experienced contractor. I know because when I was younger I did my own work in Minn., now too old and retired to do it anymore and I found the best man in all of Arizona.

Comments: After fighting leaks in our roof for the past couple of years, and seeing at least half of our development getting their underlayment replaced this winter/spring, we decided to pull the trigger on our house. With all the work being done in our development I was keeping a close eye on the different companies our neighbors were selecting. We ended up getting about 5 estimates but right off the bat S&R stood out. More and more of our neighbors were using S&R and every time I drove by one of their jobs it just seemed like they had a great crew and did great work. Everything just looked better if that makes any sense. Anyway, I finally had a chance to talk to one of our neighbors, who at the time I didn't even realize used S&R, and they couldn't say enough good stuff about S&R! Great pricing, great crew, great work, they couldn't have been happier! After having our roof done by S&R I can easily say they were 100% right! It only took two days which was amazing and they did such a great cleanup job after they were done you couldn't even tell they were here. I work from home so the banging on the roof was kinda crazy but that comes with getting your roof done :-) What was interesting is that it gave me a chance to watch the crew do their thing over those two days. Comments: Very good experience from start to finish. I needed an objective 3rd inspection and bid to help make a decision because the first two bids were very far apart for the same project. Charlie was on time, professional, and gave me printed pictures of what he found when inspecting our roof. Plus, the S&R bid was only 57% of the highest bid and only 77% of the second bid! And the bid from S&R was inclusive. No added taxes, no added supplies, no added surprises. With all of that, price was not how I made my decision. Charlie's attitude and commitment to customer service convinced me to give S&R the job. The result: a complete replacement of the tile underlayment on our roof, AND a significant savings (compared with the other bidders). His crew was professional, courteous, and diligent. They worked hard and as a team. Even with two days of "rain delays" the project was completed quickly and on budget. Perfect! I know of a neighbor who has already lined up S&R Roofing to perform an underlayment replacement. Those folks watched our job being done and wanted the same level of professionalism and service. I always encourage people to get multiple bids on an expensive project. Just make sure you get one bid from Charlie at S&R. You'll know what to do next.

S&R Roofing had a lot of great reviews and they are all well-deserved. Charlie replied quickly to my e-mail request for a quote. First impressions are important ~ Charlie arrived at my home EXACTLY on time - not one minute early, not one minute late. He did a thorough inspection and provided me with a reasonable quote that morning. I was so pleased with Charlie's professionalism and the quote that I hired S&R on the spot. Tony, the crew manager, and his team were fantastic - everyone did an excellent job. The yard was kept tidy and organized during the project. They were all hard workers and finished the roof in three days! The roof looks better than it did before and they even brought it up to current code standards. And...they were able to match the roof tiles! A neighbor recently had their roof done by a different company and part of their roof is now a different color. A few days after the crew was done, I noticed a corner area where the tiles were jutting out a little (totally normal and part of the design) but since I am planning to park a travel trailer over there I asked Charlie if they could possibly trim that corner a little bit for me. Tony came out and trimmed the corner in under an hour at no charge. Very impressive. Comments: We were quoted by our insurance adjuster for full roof replacement after a microburst hit our neighborhood. This was our first time hiring a contractor so we did a lot of research into hiring a good one. We ignored all the storm chasers that came through with the promise that they would handle everything if we sign a contract with them. We did a search online for local contractors that had good reviews and were BBB accredited. We requested three quotes to see what the typical price was and how well each contractor itemized their proposed work. Itemization is important so that you can directly compare materials used and what the job entails. Otherwise, it is impossible to compare with the adjuster's quote and the other contractors. S&R roofing was the first to reply to our request for a quote through the BBB. We requested quotes on Friday and didn't expect a response until the following week. We were surprised to have Charlie told us that he could come out that Saturday. The other two companies took about a week before we even received a response. S&R roofing gave us detailed quotes and clearly explained the whole process to us. The price they gave was reasonable and closest to what the insurance adjuster quoted. He was very honest with his explanations and did not try to up sell us in anyway. Charlie contacted our HOA and sent them samples to help them review our tile color selection. The work crew supervised by Tony arrived at 7:00 AM everyday and finished around 5:00 PM. They cleaned up after and were very professional throughout. They always kept us up to date on status. Installation was completed on time and we couldn't be happier with our roof. We recommend them for their quality work, reasonable price, and most importantly for the honest, reasonable, and genuine people that run this business.

He took pictures of my roof with his iPad and showed me I had a big hole from the wind damage I didn't even know about. Then on the spot he went to his car/mobile office and printed out his estimate. He was so efficient and professional. But I needed further quotes. After 4 more companies' quotes, his was next to the lowest. And the other companies took weeks longer to get back to me. The more I looked, the more impressed with S&R I became. Then Charlie agreed to match the only bid lower than his and give me a longer warranty. Good deal! Started work immediately (none of the others would do that) and finished a day 1/2 sooner than planned. Great team! Cleaned up each day and at the end. I got EnergyStar shingles and at first I was disappointed in the color since it didn't match the rest of the house exactly. But I've gotten used to it now and it makes a difference in our cooling costs. The workmanship on the roof is GREAT! I live in the Arcadia area and we had horrible winds last summer but the new roof never budged. That in spite of the winds blowing patio furniture around and seat cushions completely out of the yard to the neighbors. I would recommend Charlie and Tony to anyone who asks. It leaked into my attic, saturated the insulation,soaked the drywall on my ceiling and ultimately collapsed into my front room. Comments: S&R Roofing just finished the project. They did a wonderful job, were on site when they said they would be there and when they had to delay, they called us we didn't have to call them. I would use them again and I would recommend them to my friends and family.
